Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club Opens Saturday, February 7th

  |   cl blog

It’s been several years since Arizona golfers have had the opportunity to enjoy a totally new golf experience. However, according to early reviews, Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club, which will open for play Saturday, Feb. 7th, is more than worth the wait.

In fact, many industry experts considered Wickenburg Ranch to be the most anticipated new course to open in the state since We-Ko-Pa’s Saguaro Course in 2006.

Located a few miles northwest of historic Wickenburg, Arizona, the course has been more than seven years in the making. Its artfully designed holes traverse canyons and arroyos which showcase vistas of the Prescott National Forest to the east and Vulture Peak to the south. Each is a chapter in a larger story, with varying distances, compass directions, and skill requirements woven into the experience.

Because of the elevation and relatively mild summer temperatures in Wickenburg, the course is able to maintain Bentgrass greens all year round, presenting players with putting surfaces that will impress even the most sophisticated players. In fact, in early preview rounds GOLF Magazine’s Joe Passov declared that the course may have “the best greens most public players will ever have the chance to play.

Daily-Fee Guests Welcome

Though a private club by charter, Wickenburg Ranch Golf will welcome daily-fee guests during the club’s early seasons. Play is limited each day to no more than 72 players, and tee times are set up on 12-minute intervals to create a private-like experience and swift pace of play.

Golf rates – by design – are well below competitors of similar quality to attract discerning players from across the state. In fact, Arizona residents can play for just $85 per person and out-of-state guests for just $95 per player. Plus, through an exclusive partnership with Travis Mathew, every guest will receive a custom polo shirt and pullover valued at nearly $170, providing what Bill Huffman of Backspin, The Golf Show says is “hands down the best deal in the state. Period.

Located approximately one hour and 15 minutes northwest of downtown Phoenix near the intersection of Highways 89 and 93, the club will provide the social and recreational hub for the Wickenburg Ranch master-planned community. Wickenburg Ranch is currently under development by Shea Homes and Phoenix-based M3 Companies, and will feature Shea’s newest Trilogy resort community.
