Sounds like a good excuse for a party: The Fairmont Golf Media Invitational

What do you get when you throw together a couple dozen national golf writers, Fairmont executives and Scottsdale golf-industry types? Well…we weren’t too sure at first either, but it turns out to be a pretty darned good party. We called it the Fairmont Golf Media Invitational and it took place December 6th to the 10th.

Somewhere between a FAM trip and a buddies’ get-together, the Invitational attracted writers from across North America who paid their own travel expenses as well as a registration fee to enjoy the extended weekend of golf and revelry in Scottsdale. A generous welcome package (including a new TaylorMade R11S Driver custom fit by Cool Clubs) softened the blow to the writers’ wallets. Guests enjoyed Fairmont Gold accommodations as well as golf at the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course, SunRidge Canyon Golf Club and Grayhawk Golf Club. Instruction clinics were provided by the TOUR Academy at TPC Scottsdale, the Jim McLean School at SunRidge Canyon and Stan Utley at Grayhawk Golf Club. Nighttime fun included a welcome reception at The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess’ award-winning La Hacienda, as well as Bourbon Steak’s unique “mixology” cocktail recipes and a Golf Logix “Man Cave,” catered by Chuck, The Food Truck and a evening in downtown Scottsdale at The Brat Haus, hosted by Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. Come Monday…everyone headed home with their carry-ons over stuffed and big smiles on their faces.

Can’t wait to do it again next year.
