New PGA TOUR Attendance Record Set At 2014 WM Phoenix Open
With perfect weather and a star studded leaderboard including Bubba Watson, Graham DeLaet, Harris English, Hunter Mahan, Webb Simpson and Kevin Stadler Sunday’s attendance of 60,232 helped the 2014 Waste Management Phoenix Open set a new overall tournament and PGA TOUR attendance record of 563,008.
The previous record of 538,356 was set in 2008 when the Super Bowl was played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
With attendance of 563,008 for the week, TPC Scottsdale was Arizona’s 2nd most populated “city” and more than 40,000 people larger than the City of Tucson (520,116).
