CLOS LACHANCE WINE TO BE OFFICIAL WINE
PARTNER OF THE 2010 FRYS.COM OPEN
SAN MARTIN, Calif. – Frys.com Open tournament director Ian Knight announced today that Clos LaChance Winery will be the official wine partner of the Frys.com Open, scheduled to be played at CordeValle, located in San Martin, Calif., October 13-17.
“We are pleased to partner with Clos LaChance and co-owners Bill and Brenda Murphy, who are also CordeValle members,” said Knight. “Clos LaChance will serve as the tournament’s beautiful entrance and entertainment center; we are excited to have such a stunning setting as part of our event.”
The winery, which is located next to the Frys.com Open’s 15th hole, will be the site of the Tuesday evening Official Pro-Am Pairings Party as well as being open to the public Wednesday – Sunday of tournament week.

We hope tournament attendees will enjoy the idyllic experience of drinking wines that were grown in vineyards that surround the golf course,” said Bill Murphy, “In addition, the winery will host a variety of entertainment – live music after play, wine tasting, food throughout the day and unique harvest tour experiences are just a few of the special programs that will be available during the Fry’s.com Open.”
Clos LaChance is a family-owned and operated winery located in California’s Central Coast. Launched in 1992, the winery grew out of the backyard vineyard of Bill and Brenda (LaChance) Murphy. Today they use contemporary winemaking and sustainable viticulture to style Cabernet Sauvignon and other wines from their estate vineyard. The Frys.com Open is part of the PGA TOUR’s Fall Series and features a full-field (132 players), four-day tournament with a $5 million purse and $900,000 payout to the winner. The tournament will be played Oct. 11-17 at CordeValle in San Martin, Calif., located just 25 minutes south of title sponsor Fry’s Electronics headquarters in San Jose, Calif.
